বাংলাদেশে দুর্নীতি কমলেও চলছেই: টিআই চেয়ারপারসন

ধানমণ্ডি, ৪ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৫ – আন্তর্জাতিক দুর্নীতিবিরোধী সংস্থা ট্রান্সপারেন্সি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল (টিআই)-এর আন্তর্জাতিক পরিচালনা পর্ষদের চেয়ারপারসন ফ্রাঁসোয়া ভ্যালেরিয়াঁ জানিয়েছেন, জুলাই মাসের অভ্যুত্থানের পর বাংলাদেশে দুর্নীতি কমলেও তা এখনও চলমান রয়েছে। তিনি এই তথ্য প্রকাশ করেছেন ধানমণ্ডিতে টিআইবির কার্যালয়ে এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে।

ফ্রাঁসোয়া ভ্যালেরিয়াঁ বলেন, “বাংলাদেশে এখনও দুর্নীতি চলছে, তবে জুলাই মাসের অভ্যুত্থানের পর এটি কমেছে।”

তিনি আরও উল্লেখ করেছেন যে, বাংলাদেশ থেকে পাচার হওয়া অর্থ কোথায় গেছে তা চিহ্নিত করে তা ফেরত আনা অত্যন্ত জরুরি। এই প্রক্রিয়ায় সংশ্লিষ্ট দেশের সঙ্গে সমন্বয় করে কাজ করতে হবে। পাচার হওয়া অর্থ ফেরত আনার জন্য টিআইবি টিম টিআই ইউকের সহযোগিতায় ইউকে সরকারের ওপর চাপ সৃষ্টি করছে।

ফ্রাঁসোয়া ভ্যালেরিয়াঁ তিন দিনের সফরে ঢাকায় এসেছেন। ২০২৩ সালে টিআই পরিচালনা পর্ষদের চেয়ার নির্বাচিত হওয়ার পর এটি তার প্রথম বাংলাদেশ সফর।

Corruption in Bangladesh Reduced but Still Ongoing: TI Chairperson

Dhaka, September 4, 2025 – François Valléry, Chairperson of the International Board of Transparency International (TI), stated that although corruption in Bangladesh has decreased after the July uprising, it remains ongoing. He shared this information during a press conference at TI Bangladesh’s office in Dhanmondi.

Valléry said, “Corruption is still happening in Bangladesh, but it has decreased since the July uprising.”

He also emphasized the importance of tracing and recovering funds illicitly transferred out of Bangladesh. This process requires coordination with the relevant countries. The TI Bangladesh team, in cooperation with TI UK, is exerting pressure on the UK government to help repatriate the looted funds.

François Valléry is on a three-day visit to Dhaka. This is his first visit to Bangladesh since being elected Chairperson of TI’s International Board in 2023.
